A project by Matete Martini
"Hai dimenticato queste" is the latest project by artist Matete Martini for Baldinini. It’s an exploration of the brand's stylistic essence, told through the faces and stories of five creative talents. The artist steps into their Milan studios, uncovering and sharing their personal narratives through the shoes they chose to embody them.
A journey between fashion and identity, where each model is given a name that celebrates its uniqueness, in search of the "lost Baldinini" on the streets of Milan during the latest Fashion Week.
His Milan store is famous for its curated selection of unique vintage jewelry, blending art, fashion, and antiques. Known for his eclectic style and keen eye for detail, Manuel also channels his creativity as a DJ, where his music and taste effortlessly merge. In Matete Martini's "Hai dimenticato queste" project, Manuel offers a distinctive perspective on Baldinini shoes, infusing them with his artistic vision.
Manuel describes the velvet loafer he chose: "I'd give this loafer a French name, like Francois or, even better, Stephane. I imagine it as a trusty companion for adventures, whether strolling through bistros in Paris or Milan. Three words to describe it? 'Timeless,' a term I often use for objects that have a special quality you can't pin to a specific era—this shoe, though contemporary, could easily be from eighty years ago. Then 'elegant,' without a doubt, and 'soft,' because it's incredibly comfortable. These are shoes I won't forget; they've already won me over."
